Smith College, in Northampton, Massachusetts, is one of the largest liberal arts colleges for women in the U.S. and the only one with an Engineering program. Nearly forty percent of Smith students major in the sciences. The college is distinguished by a diverse student body (14% are international students, representing some 70 different countries) and participation in the Five College Consortium with Amherst, Hampshire, and Mount Holyoke Colleges and the University of Massachusetts. Through our open curriculum, students are free to choose from more than 1,000 classes at Smith and more than 6,000 courses among the four neighboring institutions. Smith’s location, two hours west of Boston and three hours north of New York City, combines small-town ambience with big-city offerings. At Smith, we trust our students to set their own paths, to be audacious, to have courage, to express themselves and find their way in the world.
