Launched in 2009, O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) is a non-profit global university established by the Government of Haryana and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). JGU is the only ‘Institution of Eminence’ and is India’s Number One Private University. It was established as a philanthropic initiative by the Founding Chancellor, Mr. Naveen Jindal in memory of his father, Mr. O.P. Jindal.

JGU, an Institution of Eminence, has established its 11th school called the Jindal School of Languages and Literature (JSLL). This is a significant step, given JGU’s focus on the core areas of study in humanities and social sciences and languages, including literature being a critical component to all other areas of study.

O P Jindal Global University shall benefit from his impressive faculty expertise in language learning, literary arts, media studies and creative writing, all of which will be crucial to the development of the new school. For the first incoming batch of 2022, JSLL shall aim to promote the study of languages in all its forms and manifestations. JSLL, through its undergraduate and masters’ degree programs, will prepare the students to be intellectually reflective, historically and culturally aware, in a diverse and rapidly changing world.
